This is a mural that I painted at a college bar in Knoxville, Tennessee called Literboard. In the two middle sections the owners wanted an image of famous Knoxville icons drinking at the bar that is in the room adjacent to this one, and on the outer sections they wanted classic UT orange and white checkerboard. I started and completed the mural in a little over one week while UT students were on Spring Break, and it was entirely primed, painted, and sealed by me!
For this project I was hired to paint the logo for the restaurant Simpl. on Sevier in their window to increase visibility of their business and to advertise that they serve food, cocktails, and coffee. To paint the logo I first drew a grid and sketched the design on the outside of the window in chalkboard marker, then I painted the logo on the inside of the window.
I was approached by the board of Alpha Phi sorority’s SDSU chapter to create a wall design for them. They had seen my previous mandala work and gave me creative freedom within the guidelines of incorporating the sorority’s name, my mandala work, and white and gold paint on a black background. I knew the wall would be heavily photographed during their upcoming recruitment events and that they would want their name to be remembered, so I put the name in the center of the wall and a little higher than the true middle so that girls could stand in front of it without covering it. After that I free handed large mandalas around the name and the rest of the wall. This is one of my most fun projects to date!
After removing old bathroom signs, the bathroom doors at Southside Garage Bar & Food Truck Park were in need of a facelift! I scraped off as much of the old glue as possible, measured and primed the area to be painted, and painted on new bathroom labels that fit the aesthetic of their business.
